Hidden Within
It's been two and a half years since Sasuke left the Hidden Leaf Village. Abandoning Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi as he did. Uzumaki Naruto soon learned that in 3 years, Orochimaru would take Sasuke's body as his own. After learning so, he went off to travel and train with Jiraiya while Sakura remained in Konoha, training under Tsunade to be a medic.
When Naruto returns to the village two and a half years later, he finds out, much to his dismay, that he is the only one of his former-Genin social circle who hasn't passed the Chuunin Exam. During his absence, the rest have all become Chuunin. Naruto and Sakura soon meet Sai, a strange character who becomes one of the new Team 7 which also contains a character named Yamato.
When the four of them leave to rescue Sasuke, they end up finding him. It seems over the two years the Uchiha has changed a lot, even wearing a new attire. When Naruto is provoked by Orochimaru, he transforms into a four-tailed Kyuubi-transformation. Orochimaru is shocked to say the least and even admits that Naruto now has the power to take his life.
Battle ensues between Naruto and Orochimaru while Yamato, Sai, and Sakura are handling Kabuto. With his new power, Naruto managed to kill Orochimaru and the others severly injured Kabuto but did not kill him. Naruto turns back to his normal form, weakened and not able to fight. With his remaining strength, Yamato manages to take out Sasuke and knock him out.
The four bring Sasuke back to Konoha where he is put in jail for the time being, despite the protests. Tsunade claims she will release him once trust is established and it is confirmed that once he is released, ANBU will be set to watch him.
